SNOWMOBILE TRAILS

Lake Gogebic: Grooming will be ongoing at night, weather permitting. Snowmobilers are still reporting the trails are in good condition. Expect some bare spots especially around towns. With our season coming to an end come up and enjoy a few more days of some riding.

Just a reminder: The Bergland Mobil gas station has closed, so plan your fueling accordingly.

Watersmeet: Conditions are still good with the exception around towns. Expect bare roads and parking lots. All trails are groomed at night, weather permitting. Come up and enjoy one last ride.

Keep in mind groomers can be out day or night, so watch out for them and please pull over or slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by.

Please be careful on corners as you know several Michigan Trail signs have been discontinued. These signs are posted on our trail map. PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!

RATED #1 SNOWMOBILE DESTINATION BY READERS OF AMERICAN SNOWMOBILER!
Each Western U.P. snowmobiling adventure is unique and exciting, as there are over 2,000 miles of groomed trails, unplowed logging roads, and secluded National Forest trails throughout our area. Explore a Western U.P. winter and share the experience of a Western U.P. snowmobiling vacation with your family and friends. It’s what snowmobiling is all about! Because when natural beauty, brilliant exhilaration and good times come together, the sensation is Pure Michigan. Big Snow Country is a Snowmobiler’s Paradise. This heavy snowfall gives you, the rider, the very best conditions and trails.

IN ALL AREAS: Please stop at stop signs. Keep in mind the groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, and PLEASE pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them. The time you spend riding in Big Snow Country is all about lots of fun and a great time ... therefore, your safety is our #1 priority.

ABOUT THE ICE: It's time for our usual caution. There is no such thing as “safe” ice due to underwater currents. If you plan to go out, be sure you talk to locals where you intend to ride for more information about the ice depth and other factors. Be aware that you will be riding at your own risk.

GAS STATION UPDATE: The gas station in Paulding is closed, so plan ahead for filling up.

TOO MANY SERIOUS ACCIDENTS are in the news each year. Many are alcohol- and speed-related. We want you to have a great time on our trails here in Big Snow Country, so please use your good common sense and save your drinking for after the ride.

Take a look at web cams throughout the area to check out the snow for yourself.
